Award-winning chef Kyle Tatner has spent years cultivating a distinct catering style that has proved him to be extremely popular on the culinary scene. Kyle fuses classic, fine dining techniques with a low and slow cooking method to create rich, sticky sauces and tender, smoky meats. Alongside his famous meat dishes, Kyle has developed plenty of delicious vegetarian and vegan options as well. About kyle
Kyle is a familiar face to many, having been based in Rye since 2006. Cheerful, loud and gets on with everyone, his friendly and happy outlook is as much a reason for his success as his cooking.
Kyle learnt his trade on the fine dining scene, working in Michelin starred restaurants. He gained an impressive reputation but wanted to have more creative control and make food that reflected his adventurous lifestyle. Kyle and his wife have always loved to travel, and throughout numerous road trips across Europe he discovered and explored new techniques and tastes. These have inspired the food that he cooks today. Using his carefully honed skills and a combination of styles from each region, Kyle created his own unique style of street food that so many of us now enjoy.
His vision is to provide delicious, high-quality food and to challenge the perceptions of what tasty, quality, affordable food looks like. In a world more aware than ever of our environmental impact, Kyle ensures he is being as ethical as possible. From how he sources his ingredients, to eco-friendly ways of serving his food, ethical practice is at the forefront of his catering.

… Catering and Events has its roots in a catering van, catering for a wide range of events from weddings to birthday parties and corporate catering. With growing demand for the public to get their hands on his food more frequently, he opened a street food shack on the beach at Broomhill Sands, Camber. This quickly became an established go-to for hungry dog walkers, beach goers and kite surfers.
Demand growing
… yet again, he turned his sights to a permanent, year-round restaurant in Rye. The adventurous lifestyle that shaped so much of what Kyle’s food is all about, soon took over again and the itch to be on the go needed to be scratched! After careful consideration, Kyle decided that heading back to his roots was the best way he could maintain the adventurous spark in his food that has made it so popular.
And so, Tatners Catering and Events has been resurrected to reflect Kyle’s need to be engaging once again in the continually evolving events scene.
